Refund Policy

1. Statutory Cancellation Rights (UK and EU Consumers)

If you are an individual consumer based in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have a statutory right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason (the "cooling-off period") under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (UK) and the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.

To exercise this right, contact us at support@scanlix.app before the 14-day period expires.

By clicking "Start Subscription" or equivalent and requesting immediate access to paid features of Scanlix, you expressly request that we begin providing the service before the cooling-off period ends. If you subsequently exercise your right to cancel, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service already provided up to the point of cancellation.

This statutory right applies to consumers only. If you are purchasing Scanlix for business purposes, the statutory cooling-off right does not apply and the standard refund terms below govern.

2. Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be requested within 14 days of your initial purchase or upgrade to a paid plan. Refund requests are evaluated at Akaya Ltd's discretion.

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at support@scanlix.app or submit a request from your billing dashboard. Include your account email and the reason for your request.

4. Processing

Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days via Stripe to your original payment method. The exact timing may depend on your bank or card issuer.

5. What Happens After a Refund

Upon refund approval, your account is immediately downgraded to the Free plan. You will retain access to Free tier features. Any remaining paid features or credits will no longer be available.

6. Annual Plans

For annual subscriptions cancelled after the statutory cooling-off period (where applicable), refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for wholly unused complete months remaining in the subscription term, less a 10% administration fee. For example, if you cancel with 4 complete months remaining, you will receive a refund of 4/12 of your annual fee, minus 10%.

For business customers, annual plan refunds remain at Akaya Ltd's discretion.

7. Add-on Packs

Add-on packs (e.g., extra scan credits) are non-refundable once credits have been partially used.

8. Free Plan

The Free plan has no charge; no refund is applicable.

9. Enterprise

Enterprise customers are governed by their individual contracts. Refund terms are defined in those agreements.
